Belgian Bandwagon

As the world cup comes closer, more and more football fans around the world are hopping onto Belgian Bandwagon. Not too long ago Red Devils were considered outsides and a team supported by hipsters, but it did not take long for the the young Red Devils to stamp their authority on world football. Today, if you exclude traditional football powerhouses Brazil, Germany, Argentina and current Home of Football Spain, they are the favorite to win 2014.

I wont say that they will win 2014, but mark my words, they will win in 2018. Just have a look at the team-
Thibaut Courtois- 21 years of age and already top 5 goalkeepers in world.
Jan Vertonghen- 26 and keeps improving
Thomas Vermaelen-27
Kompany- 27 and already one of the best in world
Witsel- 24 and considered next big thing
Kevin De Bruyne- 22
Fellaini -25 , always makes his presence felt
Eden Hazard - 22 and Touted as one of the best young talent
Steven Defour- 25
Benteke- 22
Lukaku-20, some consider him to become best striker in world in 2-3 years
This team will play in 2014 and the same team will play in 2018. With the experience of one world cup behind them and maturity in the game that comes with the age, these young players of today will become world beaters. So even if they not go all the way in Brazil, in Russia it will be impossible to stop them.
This team is one of those golden generations which comes once in a while. Now all it needs is a proper guidance under a world class manager to achieve the dream of World Cup. Marc Wilmots has been doing a fin job and has extracted everything out of this young generation. Few of these players like Hazard, Benteke and Lukaku in 2-3 years time will be superstars and household names and to manage them at that time will be a different kind of challenge. All these players are playing for Big Clubs in Europe under experienced managers and that is a big help for national team manager. Champions league football helps to bring out best out of young players.
If you can put your bets for 2018, put that on Belgium. While the juggernaut keeps rolling, the expectations keep rising. Interesting to see how far they go in 2014.
